Very good condition European Watercolor of:
Salzburg by Franz Windhager (Vienna, 1879 - 1959)

Biographical note: Franz Windhager: An early twentieth century Austrian painter, lithographer, etcher and illustrator, Franz Windhager studied art at the Vienna Academy under Griepenkerl. He began exhibiting his art in Vienna in 1908 and continued to be a regular exhibitor in many major Austrian and German cities until 1940. Today the art of Franz Windhager is held in many public collections, including the Austrian Gallery and the Municipal Gallery, Vienna. This original watercolor entitled, "Salzburg" (Austria) was done in the 1930s. With strong elements of mood and natural surroundings Salzburg is a great example of Franz Windhager's skill and talent.
